Low Throughput Automated Nucleic Acid Extraction in a Benchtop Package
The QuickGene-810 is built by FujiFilm Life Sciences and offered in North America by AutoGen. This is a compact bench top extraction system for rapid isolation of DNA or RNA from a variety of samples. The QuickGene technology utilizes an ultra thin polymer membrane for efficient capture of nucleic acids. This novel technology allows for isolation of high quality RNA or DNA with high yields, suitable for a wide range of applications. The QuickGene-810 processes 8 samples in 10 minutes, saving valuable time and labor in your lab. The system has protocols for RNA extraction from blood, cells and tissue. It also has protocols for DNA extraction from plasmid, blood, cells and tissues.
FujiFilm's revolutionary porous membrane

The system uses a porous, highly adsorptive membrane developed through application of FujiFilm's advanced polymer membrane production technology. It is only 80µm thick, making it incomparably thinner than conventional glass fibers. QuickGene-810's ultra thin membrane alleviates the risk of contaminants in the final prep due to residue in the membrane.
Problematic RNA extraction can also be fully automated with QuickGene-810. RNA is much more unstable than DNA, and ribonuclease in the atmosphere or from the operator during the extraction process has sometimes resulted in its degradation. But there's no risk at all of contamination when you use QuickGene-810 because the extraction process occurs automatically in a sealed, enclosed space.
High purity and high yield without centrifugation
Three pressurizing stages, binding, washing and elution, occur automatically in the unit. Because of the outstanding adsorptive and desorptive properties of the membrane; high-purity nucleic acid can be obtained easily at low pressure without any complex processes such as centrifugation.

There are almost no impurities in extracted genomic DNA and total RNA. The absence of impurities such as proteins and chaotropic salts results in the isolated products which can be used directly in PCR and RT-PCR.

High yields of genomic DNA can be extracted from whole blood and total RNA from cultured cells without any need to use hazardous organic solvents.

Simple operation and automated process reduce risk of contamination
There's no need for complex isolation conditions. Automation ensures that extraction doesn't fail because of contaminants in the final prep.
